After almost eleven years of planning and eleven months of construction work, Rockingham Motor Speedway came to life at noon on Monday 15th January 2001. Rockingham is Europe's fastest banked oval racing circuit, with the unbeaten lap record for the 1.5 mile oval set at 24.7 seconds - an average speed of 215mph! This is where you'll be riding shot gun next to a professional, reaching speeds upwards of 130mph - not quite over 200mph but sitting this close to the ground, it feels like a lot more! Your ride will be either a two seater race car, an American V8 stock car or an American racing pick up truck. Don't be fooled, you'll be surprised how fast the latter can go. There are no guarantees which vehicle will be available on the day.
Your experience will begin with a welcome and registration, followed by a full safety briefing with one of the instructors. Then it's in to the car for the ride of your life for three exciting laps.
When can you go?
This experience runs on selected Saturday and Sunday dates, throughout the year.
How long does this activity last?
You will spend approximately 30 minutes at the venue.
You need to know
The minimum age for this experience is 16. Under 18's need accompanying by an adult.
The minimum height for this activity is 1.47m (4ft 10in).
There are no qualifications required for this experience.
