Experience preparations for battle, feel the weight of a sword and get a soldier’s eye view from beneath a battle helmet, see lavishly decorated State Rooms, watch as a household prepares for a Victorian party and discover how electricity was generated over 100 years ago to light up the Castle. Explore the 60 acres of landscaped grounds and gardens, which include the beautiful Peacock Garden and Conservatory, the Victorian Rose Garden and Pageant Field. Throughout the year there is a fantastic programme of events including birds of prey, jousting and the world’s largest trebuchet in action On purchasing this experience, you will receive a voucher which you will need to take with you to the castle and exchange for your ticket at the ticket booth. You do not need to book your experience, just turn up at the castle, although we recommend that you check opening times before arriving. Please note that this ticket does not include any Castle Tours or entrance to The Castle Dungeon.

You need to be between 4-16 years for a child ticket and 17 years or older for an adult ticket.
You will need to have a general fitness as there is some walking involved.
No qualifications or experience are required for this activity.
